- The primary goal of the Family Violence Prevention Forum is to facilitate communication among public health providers interested in all forms of family violence
- The Forum seeks to facilitate information sharing and collaboration in programs, research, education and advocacy related to the field of family violence
- The Forum hopes to establish liaisons with other groups within and outside APHA that have an interest in the problem of family violence
